Well, most full games need only sell 500k copies to be a success, and plenty are successful at even less than that. Most people consider the game to be a "demo" (though it's as feature-ladden as many full games), and as a demo it's sold at $40. I'd say selling more than a million easily is pretty successful, and it still has a whole region to launch in. And we can't track the PSN version sales, either, so it'll almost certainly sell over 2 million whether we are aware of it on the charts or not. Plus, 100% of the code goes into the full game, so (as mentioned by others) it's essentially something Sony threw together for nothing. Plus, it's a mere "demo" yet it is actually pushing console sales.

Yeah, I'd call it a pretty damn big success.
