GoW and Uncharted seem the exception, although Uncharted really isn't that old. And GoW: Ascension wasn't that great nor did it sell that well. 

Gran Turismo is still doing pretty well.

Sony seem more keen to develop new IPs and not force their devs to continue making games from the same franchises again and again.

Yet they made a new LBP and are making a new Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank (reboot/re-imagining from what I heard?), GoW and Gran Turismo.

And you're right, Gran Turismo has proven to be a stayer. I forgot about it because I hate racing games. :D

LBP3 is made by a new dev so they're obviously not tired of it.  Ratchet and Clank is by a third party publisher who loves the IP but regardless Sony can't control what they make they don't own them.  If you don't think ND chose to make Uncharted 4 after all the franchises they've left behind in the past and how much freedom Sony always gives them...then I don't know what to say.
