I am just saying that it is absolutely foolish to think that you are only spending $280 on a $350 product. Let me ask you this question:
Why dont they just make it $280 dollars and exclude the $70 dollar gift card? Hmmm?

Because it means that 70$ has to be spent there, or you can just sell it on ebay for 70$.
It's christmas, you have gifts to buy. You had 350$ so you just bought an x1, but now you have 70$ worth of gift card to buy other gifts. Simple mathematics says that you paid less than 350$, otherwise you would only have the console.
