FF7 is a awesome game no doubt but it started some trends that are hurting FF franchise right now like the j-pop/animeish caracter design.

I like animes don't get me wrong but it feels weird when a realistic 3D character try to do anime gestures or behaving like one.I was playing MGS3 and gosh the cutscenes are cheesy thanks to that.

So I guess what you don't like is that the graphics evolved ?

It's not the graphics that bothers me is more like the design.Characters are loking more and more like j-rock singers and the behavior.... it's like i'm watching an anime but with 3D realistic characters which,in my opinion,looks/feels cheesy.FF7 started this trend(probably because before that the games were 2D though)

 

I have a problem with this "japanese-ish" behavior when not inside an anime or anime-ish game like atelier rorona/ni no kuni.It just don't feel natural to me.
