You're good. I played Pokemon Blue on the GameBoy and enjoyed it, but it was Gold/Silver that really got me into loving the series. I still think that they had the best Pokemon designs and soundtrack of the series, only surpassed by the amazing remixes it got in the remake. The Rival theme from HG/SS still stands as my favorite Pokemon piece and one of my favorite battle tracks of all time.

I still remember as a kid flipping my shit when I first hopped on the boat to Kanto. "Oh my god, this game has some of Pokemon Red and Blue in it!!"
