Even though it didn't win any awards for it's graphics even back in Golden Year 1998, MediEvil could proudly stand among the greats of that year, and among the greatest games of all time. This adventure game is a true 'game-game'. It contains lighthearted humour with ditto story, challenging yet simple combat and mindbreaking puzzles. Combat is done with either swords or ranged weapons, of which you'll unlock better versions as the game progresses. The puzzle aspect was inspired by Zelda-style puzzles, which shows in their ingenuity. The game is just long enough to keep you satisfied, but just short enough to prevent it from becoming stale and repetitive.

This is one of the games I can forever go back to, because it's concept and design is timeless, and everything about it stays fun. Some aspects like certain levels and the end-boss were so memorable, that I can replay them in my head like it was yesterday. It's a shame the game got slightly overlooked, because I would have loved the franchise still being alive today.
