Perhaps more games will be announced after these games come out. PS3 sales are up 2-3x WW from last year, so I see very little problem here.

If Install base determined which console gets 100% of the games, the DS would have had it a long time ago. Ninja Gaiden sold better on the Xbox 360 and PS3 than the DS. DS was already racking it up when FF 13 was announced and was clearly getting ready to break records. Even if PS3 is not doing as great as previous consoles, FF 13 will still be profitable for SE. Also, they will want a certain series to keep up their image in what they can produce in terms of visuals.

Its not just userbase that dictates where a game goes.

Demographic and fan expectations play a huge role. Xbox fanbase lacks rpg support while FF fans woud not be pleases with Wii hardware limiting the game.

Exactly.  There are alot of people who think Install base is the only thing that matters, but that is usually coupled with their bias.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
