Just to take it short, got some work to do:
I think to some degree it's that way because the US is extremely good at culture export via TV, Movies... whereas the small european entertainment industries are not.

Dude, if you got to Ireland, a tiny country with 4 million people, we have dozens of famous actors(Liam Neeson, Brendan Gleeson, half of game of thrones, Pierce Brosnan etc etc), movies, Bands, Music and even TV shows. We have our own TV channels, your's and the UK's to view. Although Hollywood has made the US what it is in image, it is not much more than the entirity of all of the European nations combined. You wouldn't know though, because you speak English, as do I.

Actually speaking german, a little dutch, forgot pretty much all my fench exept ouvre la porte and my english isn't as good as it was. What i actually definitely see is that there's pretty much foreign music in charts but most of the foreign stuff is from the US, even if U2 is one of the most successful bands.

What i also see is that there's Death in Paradise, Linley and tons of english crime stuff versus some megatons of US-shows.

On the other hand probably no one outside of Germany knows Mord mit Aussicht. Not to talk about german movies, except das Boot. As for french movies, Americans somehow like to make pretty bad remakes of pretty good movies.

Guess Ireland and Great Britain are not so much into that because of language. You don't need a US-version of Top Gear or Trainspotting.

So yes, there's a difference. Most european Countries don't get the majoritiy of their entertainment culture out of europe.

So the script are not Irish then, or snow patrol or Hozier? Maybe you just think these things are american when they are actually Irish. Then there is the fact that there are even more English bands and groups. The US album charts has more foreignors in it than Americans.

Then kids shows like Doc McStuffins, Octonauts, Peter Rabbit, Henry Hugglemonster. All made in Ireland by Irish people at brown bag studios. How can you claim that the only there is only U2? So ignorant.
