I hate linear styled gameplay now, it's really boring to me. It used to be fun but telling me where to go gets a bit annoying. I'd love to see that changed. Multiplayer would be cool so my brother and I could experience Zelda together instead of watching someone else play and eventually going to bed before anything happens...(TP). I'd also love to see more innovative items rather than the same old: Bows, bombs, hookshots, hammer, iron boots. Zelda just needs a makeover and I'm all for it.

Play ALBW.

Even with that, the story ruined it. I want an open world Zelda that doesn't tell you everything and seemingly that's what we're getting. ALTTP still had the same rehashed items and the only reason you could tackle a specific dungeon by will was the shoehorned Nabbit guy that had all the items. It was a fun game but I wasn't amazed.

Open world games are overrated. Give me a compact world like Metroid Prime and I'm good.

With games like metroid it works to be compact but with Zelda, a game that shows off horse back riding and legendary stuff, it kinda fits more. Plus, it's not like it will be like Skyrim. This is Nintendo that we're talking about. They'll know how to balance it out...I hope.

That's true, I just hope to see some big villages and cities in Zelda U. That's what always bothered me in the previous Zelda games. One big city (Hyrule) and multiple smaller villages would be good.
