I did the same thing with my PS4 the first day I got it. I tried to use my fingers to wipe a piece of dust off the top and it scratched the crap out of it. My shiny new toy was already ruined. My heart sunk a little. Now it's covered in dust, so I don't mind it too much. 
As long as it can play 1080p, thats all that matters
