My backing for Halo losing fan interest for the Halo's after 3 is based on more than just comments. Part of my job deals with the YouTube gaming scene. Halo 3 created massive things on social media for the series in terms of youtubers. After that it's presence pretty much died on YouTube. 

Bungie jumped off a ship that had Reach-ed (excuse the pun) the crest of a wave. It's been downhill for the series ever since. 680k MCC for November was unthinkable for a lot of people. Including many Halo fans. 


It's a collection of games most Xbox owners have already played, hardly an example of a downhill slope. You might want to wait until Halo 5 releases and we get sales data on what a NEW game in the franchise does.
