To be honest though the personal computer interface of a screen + keyboard + mouse largely remained the same for about 25-30 years and it's still a predominant interface especially in the workplace.

So maybe the smartphone interface will remain largely the same. It just works well and there isn't a huge reason to change it.

I think the biggest change will eventually be the voice stuff, once Siri and what not gets even better then it maybe more possible to interface fully with the phone just with voice.

I love Siri and other voice programs to function fully offline one day. So you don't run into pausing and errors during the voice check.

They'd improve the battery if they stopped making phones thinner.

Not at all true, sony smart phones are thin and boasts one of the best batteries out

Yeah so? If they where an inch thicker. We could potentionally have 6-8 hours. My I-BLASON backup battery/case is nearly that size. And doubles the phone to 8 hours. Imagine if the main phone was that thick, PLUS the backup battery. All day use. There's no real issue of a phone that thick for your pocket or hands. And nowhere near the size of an original Gameboy.
