Business antics probably. Build up the hype on models being rare or very time limited (what is it, out a month now?) and in the future even exploit this by saying you better get this one and this one fast because it might just sell out. In the meantime they'll bring them back later on to not disappoint people. Wash, rinse repeat, profit.
