Nothing... at that point everyone will see even more just how important third part support is for the success of any console.

What nintendo and some of its fans doesn't understand... is that the simple solution for nintendo is that they need to have made a console that is just as powerful as the PS4/XB1 or at least really close. And then have all the third party games those consoles get also come to their console.

This in addition with nintendo's staple of first party games would have made for a very different console war. Nintendos business model for their consoles just has to be the most stupid thing I can imagine. They start off with an idea of what they want the console to be, then build the hardware to accomplish that in the cheapest possible way to hit a sub $300 price point (in essence if they get more exotic on certain hardware components eg. controllers, then the hardware in the box wil take the hit) and then try and build their games around that.

Why I find this stupid is that they of all people should know they are making a console intended to be on the market for at least 5 years. Its the definition of being "penny wise pound foolish". The GC didn't fail cause they made a powerful box, it failed cause they didnt see that that was just one part of the equation and they ignored getting third party support. They need to do what MS did with the 360... foot the bill for third parties to make a version of the game for their platform, at least with game like GTA and call of duty.
