#26: Metroid Fusion (Nintendo, 2002) - GBA

"Metroid 4"as the title screen proudly claims. And well worthy of that title. I'm aware many people dislike the more linear approach and the heavier focus on story here, but I love it. It makes it more fast-paced, and seeing as I find the Metroid lore/setting pretty interesting, a game with a little more focus on a good story appeals to me. Then there's SA-X. Holy shit, that was creepy. The parts where you have to run for your life, DAMN that was intense.
I have one question though. WHERE'S MY METROID 5 GODDAMMIT?! Jesus, it's been TWELVE YEARS, and nothing. It's even more painful because the ending of this game leaves some VERY interesting implications for a sequel, but oh no, let's not make a direct sequel. Instead, let's make a FPS FOR THE NINTENDO DS, and a game that takes place after Super Metroid. Bastards.
