So? Street Fighter isn't exactly a very budget intensive game, or at least shouldn't be. Also, Capcom is making a killing in Japan over Monster Hunter.

Sony isn't in the best shape to be moneyhatting right now either.

Even though SF isn't budget intensive, Capcom still didn't have money to fund it:

As for Sony they have more than enough resources to fund SF V, but whether they should have spent their money somewhere else is their decision.

And Sony is hemoragging money in many of its departments. Sony has some money, yes, and it is their decision on where they should spend it. Personally I believe investing in a new IP would be ideal, but Sony apparently disagrees.

If Capcom didn't have the budget last October, they should have waited to see the sales on Monster Hunter this year. They certainly have some cash now.

Either way, great aquisition by Sony. Not one that I personally agree with or support, but hopefully it will pay dividends for them.

How many new IP's would Sony come out with? They've invested in more new IP's than MS and Nintendo combined in the last few years, and some of them bombed pretty hard despite being very good (like Tearaway). With an established IP like SF, they have many advantages.

SF has a huge fanbase which would now either go to PS4 or PC now with SF V, and now Sony have a console exclusive fighter which is also a part of Evo tournaments. Just like MS saw ROTTR as an answer to UC4, I think Sony saw SF V as the answer to KI.
