Yep, to avoid backlash companies go "We wouldn't have been able to make the game without company x funding us". They could make the game without the funding, but funding makes things easier and safer.

yeah somehow EA could fund fuse and release it. but couldnt manage to put a little extra money in titanfall to release it and needed MS to come save the day. guess all those money from fifa and madden went into fixing BF4
