Because we saw no sales for it?  I can't remember Minecraft appearing in the Japanese charts. Allmost all mobile and PC I guess.

Hah ok. Yeah its rather popular over their, even had the biggest line for a Vita game at TGS this year. But yeah being a mostly digitally sold game I guess we dont truly see how popular it is. Hell even in the west its sales are massive compared to what VGC has tracked.
