What were the long term problems Egyptians had to deal with after the Plagues of Egypt?

Assuming this story was true, I would guess Egypt was changed back to normal once Israelis were freed. Or they were able to adapt. Or the plagues weren't as widespread as we commonly think.

As to today, I would say most governments would declare a pandemic but not get things done fast enough to save the world in any capacity.
