That doesn't make sense though since PS4 seems out of stock in most places now

Not sure about the out of stock issues.  I was at a walmart last night and I could get either the PS4 or XB1.  I was at Best Buy on Monday afternoon and they had both available too, they even had signs up at the front door exclaiming this.
