#29: Final Fantasy X (Squaresoft, 2001) - PS2 (also on PS3 and Vita)

The first Final Fantasy on my list, but make no mistake: I love this game. Alongside XII, it was the first FF game I've beaten (though not the first one I played, that was VIII), and it left me a HUGE impression. The voice-acting was pretty stupid, yes, and the characters were hit or miss (Auron is one my favorite on the series, I like Tidus, Yuna and Lulu. But couldn't care less for Wakka, Rikku and Kimahri) but everything else was so good. The graphics I believe still hold up well to this day, the soundtrack is standard FF quality (that is, excellent) with several AMAZING songs (Zanarkand, anyone?), the gameplay is tons of fun too: I love the ability to change party members mid-battle. And while it does get rid of the ATB and is a little bit slower, that also makes it more strategic, which I really enjoy. Sadly, I wasn't able to buy the HD Remaster yet, but I'll get to it eventually.

#28: introduction of one of the most recognizable and iconic game mechanics - even though its debut wasn't exactly ideal yet (but future versions of this game would fix that).
