Um isn't the title of the thread technicaly. Seriously it's the technical stuff that pushes a console not how good it looks.

You statement is kinda contradictory , It's incredibly hard to achieve something that [looks] superior to it's predecessors without being more technicay advanced.

There are many games that take art design over technicallity. Okami for example is not technically advanced at all despite being one of the most beautiful games if not THE most beautiful game. Looks are a matter of opinion. Now the things like polygons,lighting,textures,shaders,resolution, are what take up your processing speeds and ram. You guys really need to seperate LOOKS and GRAPHICS because they are two different things.
