Gran Turismo 7 For PS4 Might Debut at PlayStation Experience
Today Gran Turismo 6 won a Gold Prize at the PlayStation Awards for selling more than 500,000 copies in Japan, but something was missing.
To be more precise, “someone” was missing. When the award was announced, everyone expected the series’ creator Kazunori Yamauchi to appear on the stage, but he didn’t. On his place, a trio of developers spearheaded by Lead Engineer Shuichi Takano accepted the award.
Takano-san mentioned in his acceptance speech that Yamauchi-san couldn’t be present, and while he did not give any detail, there’s one quite likely reason for his absence.
The only cause that come to mind is that Yamauchi-san might be in Vegas, getting ready to officially showcase Grand Turismo 7 for PlayStation 4 at PlayStation Experience.
Of course we have no way to know if that’s really the case, but there aren’t many other likely reasons coming to mind for Yamauchi-san to be absent while his team receives one of the most prestigious prizes within the Japanese gaming industry.
We’ll probably know in a couple of days whether I saw correctly through Sony’s ploy or not. In the meanwhile Takano-san also explained that the team wants to meet expectations with its next game on PS4.
