I think it's actually smog created by the large number of factories in London at the time, not fog. As for rather or not it's accurate, most of the movies I've seen that were set in Victorian London had alot of smog/fog in them, so I'm guessing it's accurate. Edit: Just looked it up on Wikipedia, it's historically accurate: Severe episodes of smog continued in the 19th and 20th centuries, mainly in the winter, and were nicknamed "pea-soupers". |
Even now the city has a lot of pollution and is still quite dirty.
