Trivia and quizzes are more like the Guy Game. It is a game where you answer questions and unlock movies of girl showing their tits.
Brain age is more like a brain training software. An accurate description of it would be a review i read at gamefaqs entitled my IQ +1. It does not make you smarter, it kinda makes your brain sharper. The game use some simple minigames (stylus and Mic only) that stimulate some of your brain areas. The minigames work with language, logic, association and a lot of those stuff we are used in IQ tests. The part where it becomes a game is when you first test your Brain age. THE GAME FUCKING INSULTS YOUR INTELIGENCE. Most people get Brain ages of 80 (i perfomed quite well and got 65 I think). So your objetive is to get as close to the 20 range (best score). You do daily exercises and gets better with time. You can also compare your age with other people (making it somehow addicting). It is true that I got better at the minigames after some training (halved my completion time) but like Nintendo said it does not make you smarter. I got the 20 about a week after playing the game but I noted that some of my "intelectual work" at the real world could be done a little faster. So I do not think that the game is a scan
The game`s major problem is some of the gameplay. Stylus writing is not 100% (kinda like 80%) and THE FUCKING GAME CAN NOT UNDERSTAND THE DAMN WORD BLUE. Still it is worth a purchase in my opinion (at least it may entertain mommy and granny).
