Well, I saw the originals in the theaters, so it's one of those childhood things for me (sort of like LoTR, read that very very young, and waited ~2+ decades for movies). 4-6 Yoda sold the old decrepit look, 1-3 you got to see what Yoda could do (though, given the short timeframe, you'd think he still could've in 4-6). So, when you first saw Yoda going apeshit with a lightsaber, for those who'd been fans for decades, it was jaw dropping, and set up an unrealistic expectation. But yeah, SW isn't all that for everyone :D
