Vanquish is a different kind of third-person shooter. Unlike most of these that spawned throughout the seventh gen, in Vanquish you're awarded if you rush towards the enemy instead of taking cover; if you face the enemy fearless instead of using petty tactics; if you put the emphasis in obliteration rather than slow-paced strategy. Vanquish is the definition of an HD arcade machine game made for consoles. I wouldn't be surprised if the game asked me to Insert Coin at some point. While short (regrettably, but it comes with the territory), my time with Vanquish was awesome and enjoyable. A game that will be forever stuck with me. If only, oh! the game had some kind of closure. It is completed with a cliffhanger for the sequel that, given the sales and SEGA's interest, will never be made. At least we can always try doing the Vanquish's tactical challenges, which are an insane exercise of will and skill.
