Bodhesatva, while I understand your point - people use non-game as a offense, kinda like "if you play this you are not a true gamer" - I do not think that non-game is a completely wrong term. Take for example some trainers for the DS (I love the system by the way) like skin care, sommelier DS. Maybe these softwares are not meant to be played (I do not know as I have not seen them). Maybe they are developed to help or expand the user experience of the DS system. Think about using your DS as a GPS or to store cocktail and food recipes. What make Cooking Mama and Brain Age games in my opinion is the existence of goals and scores. The Stock Market is not a game and neither is the trials in America however Capcom released games that use them as themes. Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright series) is a brilliant game that uses well a idea that many would say: "a game about trials? This is retarded". Capcom did not release the stock market game but I am looking forward to it.
