Worse can and has happened due to things like this. *Sega CD and Sega 32X just called*

This will probably:

a) Make the Wii look even more appealing. It's already got this same control scene on a cheaper console with much better public reception.

b) Make the 360 look even worse for "copying" the Wiimote. 

c) Alienate the 360's core fanbase.
