I personally prefered the mainstory in far cry 3
However, from what I have seen fc4 has more varied everythung, the side quests don't feel as repetitive, there are flying vehicules... So if you play on console, just get fc4, preferably on ps4.. Or xb1 if this is what you have... On pc fc3 is worth playing now, especially if you con find it on the cheap...
which brings us to the situation if you have only a ps360 console, don't bother, the game is barely playable on either.
