Could the PS Vita be a double generation handheld?

Whether modern phones are more  powerful is kind of irrelevant because developers simply aren't going to utilise  that power. 

If i really want to play a shooter, I'll go on my Xbox 360 (or you know, Modern Combat 5: Blackout). I have a 3DS and I'm loving that.

I'm not arguing the Vita has a bigger audience then the 3DS or mobile, but that system is unique in its space. Specifically in the space of indie games and Japanese titles (action or RPG), the Vita has the upperhand in terms of how its hardware works control wise and power. Theres a reason why we see ports like Gundan Breaker on Vita despite the 3DS's much larger installbase.
