Vita's successor will definitely be aimed for the Japanese market only, because I don't think we'll ever see Sony releasing another dedicated portable gaming device in the west. Makes me think that they will focus completely on the cartonish/anime-ish oriented games and making a very cheap to manufacture handheld, so they can make profit very easily just like Nintendo's strategy with their hw.
...And they still have a strong following in Japan, though Vita was hurt a bit by its first promises of realistic games (something alien to the japanese crowd), they can still move great numbers if they just focus the strategy of what they've been taking with the Vita recently.
