Pretty much this except I don't know about the ARPG part, it might be too much work to balance the game around it properly.

It's not necessary, I just think it would be a nice inclusion.  I definitely want fully 3D worlds and camera control, though.  Don't understand why some want it to stay pre-rendered backgrounds, only in HD.  Buy the PC version and mod it if that's what you want.  I want to explore the world and be able to look at it up close.  Just make you feel more a part of it.
