Funny, I think the same about all music from before 2000 |
That's you're opinion but you're wrong. The actual art of writing music. Writing the lyrics is almost dead. Now it's lot of randomness and aims for the lowest common denominator. Having the music as loud or louder than the singer. There almost no tune anymore. No rythm. Just noise. Anything I hear today is yelling. Auto tune and computer. They make up for lack of music by shaking their ass. Not dancing. Gotta wear the dumbest shitiest outfit to detract attention to the performence. No depth no vision.
Artists have always kinda worn silly outfits but the music was the main focus. Not anymore. It's cheap pops. Filler lyrics and shallow subject with shallow writing.
None of these people will come close to James Taylor,David Bowie,Mathis,REM,Beatles,Ella Fitz,Elton John,Billy Joel,Sinatra,Queen,Journey,Bing Crosby and the list goes on and on and on when it comes to actual talent and the entire art that is music. I was born in the early 80's and sure like music of the time I grew up but like musci from almost any era of any genre but for years it's been turned to just garbage.
