| Kerotan said: this thread is not based on how SO was acquired so that's irrelevant to the points behind my suggestion in this thread. ANd it's not flawed the way you are trying to say it is because Sony was getting SO unless they demanded ownership of the IP. Likewise if they demanded ownership of PES they wouldn't get it. It's the same thing. |
You're the one who brought up Sunset to try and counter my point. I am merely explaining to you why it's a flawed comparison.
I really can't explain it any simpler. If Sony doesn't try and entice Konami to make a PES bundle, they are getting the game anyway. If MS did not try and entice Insomniac, they were not going to get Sunset. If Sony doesn't make a deal with Konami, then Konami misses out on revenue from the Xbox brand.
So again, why would Sony care to spend resources on a game you readily admit they are going to get anyway, and will sell many more copies than Xbox will anyway? There's no reason for Sony to make the deal. You could argue there is reason Konami would, but it would still be a weak argument imho. PES is finally on the rebound and is a small franchise. They need as many people buying the game as they can get. You know what a PS exclusive status would make them? A permanent soccer second fiddle to FIFA.
