You will not find many mature romances without comedy in it. Comedy is a big part even in tragedies and dramas.

You should definitely have a look at Nagi no asukara which starts out as a normal slice of life comedy but gets very serious and mature the farther it goes.

Also have a look at anything Jousei.

Well jousei is no guarantee for serious romance but it is aimed at adult women so romance is a very prevalent genre in that demographic.
