Wii: November 25th 2006 - January 5th 2008 = 19,894,369

PS4: November 16th 2013 - January 3rd 2015 = 15,087,310 (as of November 22nd)

With 6 weeks left, the PS4 has to sell an average of 802.000 units per week, for it to best Wii's first year results, and with Black Friday and Christmas coming up, I say it is bound to happen.

PS4 is currently tracking higher, than what Wii did Holiday 2007, here is a comparison.

-----Wii 2007--------------------PS4 2014--------------------------------

Nov 03: 296,372-----------Nov 01: 314,356 = 06.07 % (17,984)
Nov 10: 282,996-----------Nov 08: 553,533 = 95.60 % (270,537)
Nov 17: 469,651-----------Nov 15: 481,003 = 02.42 % (11,352)
Nov 24: 673,069-----------Nov 22: 734,388 = 09.11 % (61,319)
Dec 01: 699,757-----------Nov 29:
Dec 08: 728,498-----------Dec 06:
Dec 15: 686,612-----------Dec 13:
Dec 22: 1,462,609-------- Dec 20:
Dec 29: 737, 820-----------Dec 27:
Jan 05: 386,299------------ Jan 03:

Not to piss in your poredge, but your logic is a bit flawed considering this:

Wii:

  • JP December 2, 2006
  • NA November 19, 2006
  • EU December 8, 2006
  • AUS December 7, 2006
PS4:
 15 november 2013
 29 november 2013
 22 februari 2014
Straight from Ninty:
LTD 31st of Dec 2007: 20,130,000 WW
So you take the sales form release NA for PS4, but skip a week for Wii? Only NA got the Wii in November, ROTW had to wait till december. Now PS4 also has a disadvantage by starting late in Japan. Also how do you measure first year? Isn't it usually either November-November or Jan-Jan? Or at least an equal timespan? Considering these things sold/sell loads a week it can be quite the difference.
On a side note. Wii sales rate increased during second AND 3rd year from allready steap sales. So yeah the PS4 is doing really well, and I'm curious to see where it will be heading.

Thanks, I didn't know.

How would you suggest I made the comparison - using VGC numbers?
