Motocross Madness
System: PC
Genre: Racing
Year: 1998
Rank last year: 30 (v 7)
One of the few racing games on the list, Motocross Madness sure is a weird one at that. The game tried to be a realistic moto-racer, but ended up being hilarious due to it's game mechanics. Of course, that's part of what makes the game fun. It's easy controls, competitive nature and the several game modes complete the package. This game also features the best map-editor ever conceived, when literally anyone can make a good track in 5 minutes full with ramps and tight corners.
Obvious in a racing game, the objective is to win races. The game doesn't feature a 'career-mode', but it is possible to play a tournament of a couple races. The biggest mode is the 'Supercross', which consists of fun tracks with sharp turns and short, steep mounds. Other modes include the 'Waypoints'-mode, where the riders must cross through a vast desert from waypoint to waypoint. Lastly there's the 'National' races, which are tracks through natural surroundings for huge jumps.
