maybe they'll start supporting the vita more thoroughly now they seen how nice it is to have a system that sells.

Why everyone try to ask Sony to support more on Vita (for AAA, they are supporting with indies and will do in future)? we know that Handheld market is dominated by Mobiles/Tablets now and its shrinking. Even nintendo has big decline and they survive only because of their IP's and sony dont have any IP's that is more suited to Handheld like a system seller. Even if they try to find one or two by riksing still its not enough as we need atleast 5 games a year like a system sellers from them to keep it afloat and 3rd party aleady abandoned handheld by moving to Mobiles. They are doing wise decision by focusing on Consoles which only can sell and give good profits with their network services of entertainment for home that will never disappear.

I'm not saying prioritise the Vita over the PS4, I'm saying move some of the investment which they're pouring into the lossy markets into the PSVita instead.

1. Is the Vita selling for a profit? If so sony could would really do well by allowing it to find a respectable baseline (market minecraft for one!)

2. The Vita  is already tangible success in japan- its needs a further push, probably 3rd party collaboration with known franchises.

3. As far as I'm aware developing for the Vita is significantly less costly then consoles going by what we've seen thus far. That risk you're painting doesn't seem that 'risky' when compared to their other investment opportunities which aren't the PS4 (Mobile/TV).

4. Theres only so much money worth pouring into the PS4 before its reaches its peak in sales. Its already moving at record speeds and although more games will be maximise it that theres a limit, sony should look for other revenue streams aswell (Vita).

Budget games appopriately so that 500k is a success. Take a few bigger investements with bigger franchises which are bound to make a return with software sales; Elderscrolls (morrowind remake), GTA Vita, Grand Turismo Vita, Final Fantasy, Monster Hunter... Hopefully reap the rewards of software revenue on a highly active yet unsaturated market (AA Vita games), whilst also maximising hardware revenue.
