The thing is that the most controversal threads about this topic are the examples where the difference in pixels is not given.

In the beginning of this generation PS4 had a way more massive lead in multiplatform games like COD:Ghosts or other games showed while a year after this Xbone is not closing the gap (yes, it can't, facts are facts and so on) but the games are performing objectively better than they did a year before.

Still facts are facts and thus people get curious to where it can be seen while it can't always. Games that run at the same resolution like GTAV show (partly massive) differences while in other parts they don't which is why gifs appear that show the massive difference in power (specs) while there are no gifs that show how the game looks the same and performs the same. This means there is no visual advantage throughout the whole game while there is still the power gap but it isn't that evident as in other games or a year before.

Interestingly though is that somehow people are now getting a strange feeling that DF downplays differences and now even think of conspiracies against the PS4 while a different group thinks that closing a gap is happening.

What is happening is that launch problems of one console and its XDK (eh... SDK ) got sorted out in a good way and the drop of a before mandatory accessory also benefited the console but if a multiplat game looks way better on PS4 because of the 30%-50% better specs (and while this is as idiotic as it always was) depends totally on the game itself and how the engine is designed to make use of the existing, underlying hardware.

Again all true. It really all boils down to perspective and what one is trying to accomplish with their argument. If what you are trying to do is prove how the PS4 runs games better, its to do so even when looking at a gme where other parts of it are practically identical. Hence to push that point one will only chery pick the portions of the game that has the PS4 showing some sort of obvious benefit. Same can be said for someone trying to show how there is hardly a difference between the two. In conclusion, the fact (if one is to be anal about things) is that 9 outta 10 times the PS4 version of a game will always run better than the XB1 version of the same game. In some shape or form even if its not easily dicernable. That doesn't mean that what you have on the XB1 runs like ass, to me its actually just fine. But people looking for a case will no doubt blow it outta proportion. On the other side you also have people that are flat out in denial about the PS4 actually running better. Thats another matter though.

As for SDK improvements... since the time it was first confirmed that the PS4 was actually the more powerful console, I have always believed that as long as XB1 development thrives, games would ultimately be built for the XB1 primarily in mind. Nothing wrong with that, it actualy makes sense cause if i was a dev that is exactly what I would do. Make get the game running as best as I can on the weaker platform then port t over to the stronger easier to develop for platform. What this will mean is that going forward there will be even smaller differences between multiplats. Well that or that most multiplats will settle for running at 900p on the XB1 and that be the only major difference. Again, I don't see anything wrong with this either.
