What's wrong with a beating? You do know you can kill another human being with your bare hands right? Or inflict life long crippling injuries and/or brain damage. I have served in the military and have been nursing for over 12 years and I can tell you that "taking a beating" can be deadly. No human should have to compromise their personal safety and given the chance should be allowed to defend themselves with deadly force if necessary. You have no idea the damage a human being can do to another with just their bare fists. Not to mention the officer has a gun on him and anyone willing to attack you while armed probably isn't going to stop at just a beating. Officers do get self defense training etc. but there is ALWAYS going to be someone or a situation that can get away from you and you may have to resort to the most final or extreme measure to survive it. Cops are human just like you are. I find your naivete slightly on that point disturbing. Your one of those why don't they just shoot them in leg and cripple them people aren't you? You probably have no idea why it took the officer several shot to stop this human being from continuing to come at him after attacking him. But what I find particularly disturbing is your indifference to the safety of someone whose job it is to protect YOUR safety even more so. |
Couldn't have said it better myself, so I won't even try.
Though, I will say, it really ticks me off about this whole black vs. white BS. If this had been a white man who had robbed a store, assualted a black police officer before charging at him and being shot, we wouldn't have heard a god damn thing about it. But, with the exact same situation, because it was a white cop and a black man, it's all of a sudden racism. And just like any other case of this kind, for those on the side of the criminal, the facts don't matter at all. It doesn't matter when eye witnesses (most of them black) corroborate the shooters/officers story. All that matters is the false story that "civil rights activist" and "reporters" put forward in the first few minutes/hours following the shooting. "This gentle giant (forget the part where he man-handled a store clerk and officer) was murdered in cold blood after throwing his hands up and getting down on his knees, surrendering (forget the part where he actually charged the officer with the intent to harm/kill him.)
