Exactly!  I was just about to edit my post and include that as well.  The entire tone of both articles are just SO negative!  He excludes a key feature like EA access, which appears to be a huge success for the XB1.  He forgets to even mention Infamous Second Son so as to not counter his inital statment: "the games weren't stellar".  THEN he also downplayed the best game of last generation by saying "a handsome but rather cheeky reissue of the PS3 hit The Last of Us".

He clearly thought console gaming would die this generation and still wishes that!! Who honestly wants console gaming to die?
