It's a nice read. I think some of it is overblown, I certainly didn't feel Forza 5's in game economy was affected at all by microtransactions. The start of the gen was brutal and full of mistakes and though I feel it's easily the best console and they have done great work fixing most of those mistakes, it's probably too late to "win" them the generation or anything unless they really wanna price aggressively and continue with incredible bundles.
The first year has been great though. The launch was good, TF was amazing, and now easily the best holiday offering of the two consoles.
