Microsoft is not going for worldwide, they only care for north America and UK to a lesser extent.
For all intents and purposes, they won what they set out to win. Maybe not the full month, but a week or two at the very least.

Not to mention I would expect a thread title like this if npd was published today showing ps4 as the victor for November, but that's not the case.

Sorry but this thread is a bit silly.

Bolded part isn't true.

"We shipped at the same time and we're in direct competition with the PS4," he admits. "I'm not going to duck that. I want to win. I want to win this generation"

At OP. Yeah...It was pretty now or never for MS...Maybe when Halo 5 comes out?

The op is talking about last week's ww sales numbers not passing those of ps4's. No one is talking about the generation itself. But we're talking about US sales for the month of November and as I said, in case it wasn't clear, after the price cut and bundles for north America, they have indeed won a week or two that they set out to win. If you don't think Microsoft won the past two weeks in america, you're kidding yourself.

As for the whole month, that won't be known till next month's npd.

He couldn't have read that wrong. Think he just wanted to put that in.  Smh
