Thing is LucasArts and Marvel were going down the drain before being bought by Disney. Im not saying Nintendo is fairing amazingly well but they are still several years away from considering a buyout.
As for the notion.... Nintendo would get a huge boost in marketing and most likely movies and TV shows. But I feel the Nintendo brand would take a hit in fan base.
