If certain consoles can't acheive 1080p now, what happens in a couple years?

Anyone who cares about graphics owns a PC not a console. Its not worth their time optimizing console games cause its a waste of budget to go too far out of the way to make a few whiney bitches happy. Console owners know by buying weak unified hardware that they are paying for ease of use and not graphics.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't most games which start on consoles and get ported over to PC run better as well? It's not just about ease of use but also stability.

Ease of use touches on that. Console only folk dont have to update drivers or anything like that but it depends on the game. In the end due to patches from both the developer and community(and mods if you wish) any game worth a lick will run more stable on on PC. If this gen is any sign it looks like stability is usually equally bad across all platforms due to similar architecture.
