| CrazyGPU said: I think its a shame that 8 gen consoles dont play 1080p easily. High end PCs are already capable of 4 times that, 4k. Im playing at 2K and its completely different than playing in 720p. In 3 or 4 years the PC will be miles away from this consoles graphic quality wise. And better resolution and more fps is always a good thing. Otherwise we would still be playing Doom II or NES games. That said, that doesnt make a game better, most games I like most arent the best ones quality wise or resolution wise, examples, Half Life series, Bioshock, Last of US, Creativity, playability and good stories are what developers should work for. And besides my great PC, I have GTA V and Far Cry4 for PS4 waiting for me to play them while laying on the bed. I dont understand why people is always saying that they prefer to play good games than graphics, its a different thing. Every one should prefer good games before graphics, but If you really dont care about graphics, go play with PS1 or on board graphics PC from 5 years ago. If graphics were not important nobody would be buying PS4 instead of keeping PS3. And they already sold 13000000. |
This has always been the case except for last gen when the consoles had cutting edge hardware, and even then they got surpassed by PC fairly quickly. I do agree that people's focus on graphics over quality of the game is a problem. But graphics should (and are, let's be honest) always improve because that helps with the immersion. The problem with certain developers today is that they are trying to push graphics and "immersion" at the expense of gameplay and even at the expense of playability. We need more people like Miyamoto who believes the game should be all about the enjoyment of the experience and sucking in the player instead of trying to be some huge blockbuster cinematic experience - that's what movies are for.
