Won't say anything about my hate for Resistance, but definately see where you're coming from about Gears. I was pretty upset the first time through the game when it suddenly ended but I'm actually glad they kept it as short as they did. I would have really like to know more about the locusts and what Fenix did, but that not knowing really adds to the game, like not how the zombies became zombies in a zombie movie. If they would have tried to cram story into the game, I think it would have really distracted from what made the game fun.
Also, Gears is primarily a multiplayer game (though I like it for the single player).
