certainly not "most", but on gaming websites we usually don't hear about the thousends of total crap indie games, but we hear about the actually promising projects, which are quite many aswell, because there are so many in total

Well you're absolutely correct about that. My phrasing wasn't the best I suppose xD
What I meant to say was most of the ones I've played have been either good or great.
I don't really look up on info about the indies before purchasing (if I don't have any doubts that is), I usually purchase them if they appear to be fun
