Which generation had the best first year, software-wise?

Yeah Im going to have to agree here. PS2 had an amazing first year, dont even have to check GCN or XBOX

those were the days.  GTA, FF, DMC, MGS, and Silent Hill all exclusive.  No wonder PS2 dominated.  Hated ICO though
